KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Walter Johnson, Harvard University

Johnson is the Winthrop Professor of History and African American Studies at Harvard University, where he is also the director of the Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History. Johnson’s books include Soul by Soul: Life Inside the Antebellum Slave Market and River of Dark Dreams: Empire in the Cotton Kingdom.

SALEM TOUR: Dr. Emerson Baker, Salem State University Conference attendees will have the opportunity for a personal walking tour of downtown Salem with Dr. Emerson Baker, Dean of the Graduate School and author of A Storm of Witchcraft: The Salem Trials and the American Experience and The Devil of Great Island: Witchcraft and Conflict in Early New England.
